Olive harvest morning
Harvesting the four olive trees in our garden. Children shake the branches, gather from the sheets and carry the crates; parents are invited.
November is olive month in Urla. This morning we spend the second half of the work period in the garden: sheets go down under the trees, older children shake the branches and younger ones gather olives from the sheets. The olives will be pressed at a small workshop in our neighbourhood, and our own olive oil will come to the breakfast table this winter.
Parents can join us in the garden from 10:00. Boots and aprons for the children are at school; you only need comfortable shoes.
